These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the My Local Stores mobile app, website, and related services (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Nature of the Service
My Local Stores is a discovery-only platform. It connects customers with neighborhood shops by displaying shop listings, catalogues, prices, and discounts. The Service does not facilitate, process, or guarantee any purchase, sale, payment, delivery, or transaction.
- There is no cart, checkout, or payment processing in the Service.
- All purchases are made directly between the customer and the shop, in person.
- Prices and availability shown in the Service are informational and for reference only.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you will comply with all applicable laws, including those of India.
3. Accounts and Phone Verification
a) Customers
Customers can use the Service anonymously without creating an account. A randomly generated anonymous identifier is used to run the Service; you cannot be personally identified by it.
b) Merchants
Merchants must verify their phone number via one-time password (OTP). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. One merchant account may operate one shop listing. You may not create accounts for the purpose of misrepresentation.
4. Merchant Responsibilities
As a merchant, you are solely responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of your listing, including:
- Shop name, address, phone number, and location;
- Opening hours and open/closed status;
- Item names, prices, discounts, units, and stock status;
- Photos you upload — you must own or have rights to them;
- Compliance with all applicable laws, taxes, and regulations for your business.
You agree to keep prices and availability current and accurate. Misleading, fraudulent, or inaccurate listings may be removed and your account may be suspended.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Post false, misleading, defamatory, or infringing content;
- Upload harmful code, attempt to breach security, or interfere with the Service;
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce listings, images, or data from the Service for commercial use without permission;
- Impersonate any person or business;
- Use automated tools (bots) to create accounts or listings.
6. Reports and Removal of Listings
Customers may report shops they believe are inaccurate or problematic. We review all reports. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and at any time, to remove or edit listings, suspend or terminate accounts, and refuse the Service to anyone for any reason, without prior notice.
7. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that listings, prices, or availability are error-free. Shops are independent businesses; we do not endorse, control, or guarantee any shop or its products.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Local Stores, its owners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Any purchases, refunds, or disputes are strictly between you and the shop.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service and its content (excluding user listings) — including the name "My Local Stores", logos, text, and design — are the property of My Local Stores and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without prior written permission. You retain ownership of the content you submit; by submitting it, you grant us a limited license to host and display it as part of the Service.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers including Google Firebase and Google Maps. Your use of the Service is also subject to their terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
11. Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Changes to the Terms take effect when posted on this page, with the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the state where the Service operator is located.
