This page explains how users of My Local Stores ("we", "our", "us") can request the deletion of their account and associated data, as required by Google Play and applicable law (including the DPDP Act, India).
1. Who can request deletion
Any user who created an account can request deletion:
- Merchants — accounts created with a phone number (OTP verification), including their shop listing, catalogue items, prices, discounts, and uploaded photos.
- Customers — we do not require customers to create accounts; customer browsing data is anonymous. If you wish, you may also write to us to request removal of any data associated with you.
2. How to request deletion
- Send an email to mylocalstores2@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
- In the email, include the phone number registered on your account (this is how we verify ownership).
- Optionally, include your shop name to help us identify your listing faster.
For security, we may ask you to confirm details from your account (e.g., shop name, registered phone number) to verify that you are the account owner before processing the request.
3. What happens after we receive your request
- We verify ownership of the account.
- We permanently delete your account, shop listing, catalogue items, prices, discounts, uploaded photos, and other associated data.
- We confirm the deletion by email once completed.
4. Data deleted vs. retained
- Deleted: Your login account (phone number), shop listing, catalogue items, prices, discounts, photos, and any other data you provided.
- Retained: Anonymous analytics and crash reports (which do not identify you personally) are retained only as long as needed for the Service and applicable legal requirements. Copies in backups are purged according to our backup retention schedule.
5. Timeline
We process deletion requests within 30 days of verification. In most cases deletion is completed much sooner.
